Rare Pioneer LaserDisc bumpers and side break

In stereo with the &fmt=18 hack. CX decoding was employed on playback since the disc is mastered with the CX noise reduction system. These bumpers are quite rare and probably only found on Pioneer LaserDisc titles from the early 1980s. These bumpers came from a title that was made available in the United States in 1981 ("White Music," catalogue number MS008-U, which is music by a group known as "Talizman" played with snow skiing footage). I suspect this title was merely a straight repressing of the original Japanese disc for American release. This was transferred from a Pioneer LD-660 top-loading LaserDisc player. The LD-660 uses an He-Ne gas tube laser emitter instead of an IR laser diode emitter. The LD-660 also does not act on any player control codes, Philips or MCA, so it will play just about any NTSC LaserDisc from the beginning all the way to the physical end instead of stopping at the end-of-side code. This means that if you have the DiscoVision issue of "Frenzy," you can play side 5 all the way through while on modern players it will stop on every frame because some idiot encoded each frame with a picture stop. It will also play any MCA-code discs, such as General Motors promotional and instructional LaserDiscs from the late 1970's to the early 1980's, while modern players might or might not play the disc. However, MCA-code discs must be played on the Pioneer PR-7820 in order to use the interactive programming that may be in these discs; the LD-660 will just play the entire side straight through from beginning to end.
