I set down the soda and snacks that I had brought for everyone to enjoy before we starved to death, on the coffee table in the game room they were all situated in. Joe was sitting on the couch texting some one while claiming to be watching Aidan and Frankie. Yeah right. I'm not that stupid. I was curious who he was so passionately and avidly texting. If he got any more passionate about it than he already was, I'm pretty sure a key on the phone would break. I noticed he looked nervous about something. Hmm, wonder what it is. When the sound of the metal of the soda cans hitting the table was heard, Joe looked up at me. ''Hey'', he said. ''Hey,'' I said back. Oh wow. How original Ava! ''Can I have a soda please? A Sprite would be good. Oh and a bowl of ice cream!'' ''Do I look like your maid?'' ''Almost,'' ''I'm laughing oh so hard Joe,'' I said, in a completely dead tone. ''I know you are, very deep down inside. Since Im insanely funny arent I?'' I rolled my eyes as he claimed his funny-ness. Frankie and Aidan were still playing their video games. Big surprise! I think they were playing Mario now. Whatever, it doesn't matter. Gosh. Now that we were all even , things were awkward as hell. At least before we didn't WANT to talk to each other and if we did talk, we had something to talk about (no matter how stupid it was). ''Mhm.. he said,'' which gave away the fact that he wasn't even paying attention to me. Don't ask why I even CARE whether he pays attention or not because I don't know the answer. ''Are you listening?'' ''Mhm,'' ''Dont you think your face is ugly?'' ''Mhm,'' ''Seriously?'' ''Sure'' ''Wow! Thats a first! Oh my god! Is it true you raped a five year old?'' ''Mhm,'' ''Jeez Joe. Do your parents know about this?'' ''My parents? What? I did NOTHING WRONG. I SWEAR!'' The look on his face at that moment was priceless. Kind of like that one Visa or MasterCard commercial. ''Relax! There's no parental units around. But I did get you to admit you raped a five year old and that your face is ugly,'' I said, laughing at the same time. ''Ha.Ha.Ha. SO FUNNY,'' ''Thanks. So, who are you texting that's got you so focused and entranced with your phone and avidly pressing each key?'' ''None of your beeswax that's who,'' Ouch. Rude much? ''Okay then,'' A couple minutes later and a couple million texts later, Joe spoke again. ''Ava, could you do me a huge favor?'' he pleaded. At first I was having second thoughts about it since he'd been oh so wonderful earlier but went ahead and agreed. I hate not being able to say no to people! ''Yeah sure,'' I replied. ''Okay, I need you to cover for me tonight,'' ''Whoa. COVER FOR YOU? What does THAT mean?'' ''Put a cover over my head Ava. What do you THINK I mean?'' ''Where are you going?'' ''Out,'' Wow. Isnt he a smart one. ''Out where? I can't cover for you if I don't even know where you are or who you're with,'' ''Fine. I'm going out on a date with Stef,'' Right after the words left his mouth, I felt that weird feeling again that I will call anything but jealousy or love. -Joe;; Whoo! My plan WORKED. After I told Ava that I was going on a date with Stef, I saw that look in her eyes. The way she reacted to the words date and Stef definitely was a good sign. At least for me it was. GAH. I have NO EXCUSE FOR NOT POSTIN FOR FOUR WEEKS. [Except it was my birthday Monday and my moms Wednesday.] Im SO SO SORRY. 600 subbers! YAY! Btw, this chapter was my 50th in the whole story. Hehe.
