KC Food Pioneer Says 'Yes, You Can!' Part Four

Back

Diana Endicott, manager of the Kansas City area's Good Natured Family Farms cooperative, tells an enthusiastic crowd of about 140 people the back-story of her co-op. At the June 2, 2008 Fresh Fields for Fantastic Food event in Traverse City, Michigan, she explained how the group of 100 small- and medium-sized farms in 2007 hit $10 million in annual retail sales to 30 supermarkets in Kansas City. Her talk was part of northern Michigan's Taste the Local Difference initiative, www.LocalDifference.org, which is aimed at building a new regional food economy.
