Literacy for Democracy: 2008 Freedom School Photo Album

Literacy for Democracy at UNC Charlotte in Charlotte, NC is a program that focuses on literacy, service learning and civic engagement. Graduate students in a Multiliteracies course worked with Freedom School Scholars in July 2008 to create video Public Service Announcements (PSAs) suggesting solutions to the Cradle to Prison Pipeline Campaign, a Children's Defense Fund initiative. These videos were created by Freedom School Scholars at Billingsville Elementary School.
