Urgency is required, yesterday H.R. 3221 The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 passed. Find out why this is Act will not solve our problems. Down payment assistance through FHA is eliminated. After October 2008 100% financing will no longer be available. Consumers will be required to come up with 3.5% of there own money to purchase a home. There is a very short window of opportunity for potential home buyers to take advantage of down payment assistance. There are several other issues that will negatively affect our housing market in this bill. This bill will permanently change the way we purchase and finance homes.
